Baby Shower

hello everyone...
Having a baby in my belly has been the most magical experience of my life. I can't believe that I could be holding my baby in 10 short days. I am beginning to understand why towards the end of one's pregnancy, you start really looking forward to giving birth. I know that I will not ever get to sleep the way I used to sleep, but I can't wait to be able to roll over at night without a concerted effort and even an occasional moan. The baby has begun to drop which is nice for breathing and eating, but the cantilevered weight of the belly is intense. The area between my shoulder struggle to keep my back straight. I have also started having contractions. They occur mainly in the evening and during the night. I have a feeling the next full moon will be a long and beautiful night for us.
Wiggles is very active. Last week my entire family came out for a visit. Wiggles was excited to kick everyone and also wiggle his/her butt for everyone's viewing pleasure. So what was supposed to be a relaxing week of hanging out with the Kusic's turned into a packing marathon. Walter, Wiggle & I are now living in the baby bubble, a converted apartment in the garage while our house is being remodeled. We read in every parenting book that having a baby and remodeling a house is a great idea. So in a few months we will have doors and a great room with kitchen, dining, and living room. We are soo excited.
The picture above is from our baby shower. Katy's house was such a special place to have our community gather to give Wiggles some love, wishes and hopes for the future.

Registry Info

Hello friends and family,
I have gotten a few emails from folks asking what we need for the baby. Luckily we live in a great community with amazing friends and have gotten lots of hand-me downs. Please do not feel like you need to get us anything. Someone will be organizing food for us to make the transition to parenthood easier and we would really appreciate yummy food.
But if you really want to get us something here are some ideas. We would prefer used items to new. If you do get new things we would prefer organic. We would love children's books and wooden toys. We already have lots of cloths for either a boy or a girl.
If you live in Santa Cruz, I have set up registries at EcoGoods on Pacific Ave and Green Spaces on Soquel Ave. I also love plan toys that are found at the little toy store next to Kelly's Bakery on the Westside.
There are also two online registries:

Full Term !!!!!

Hello everyone,
I have hit the magic 37 week of pregnancy, which means Wiggles is ready to be born. If I went into labor this second, Wiggle would not be considered premature . My due date is still 3 weeks away on April 9th. So I now weigh 196 lbs!!! My ankles are starting to swell and walking is no longer fun. I have started swimming which is great. Being weightless for a bit of time is fun. Although getting out of the pool is always a shock. Wiggles has started to drop. My belly is stretching in new directions, which is making breathing a lot easier, but taking a toll on my upper back. My braxton hicks contractions are more regular and are getting more intense.
Wiggles is in constant motion. His favorite position is downward dog, stretching my belly to full capacity. I think Wiggles is going to be born with well developed leg muscles. Wiggles loves moving with the sounds of loud drumming, diesel engines and motorcycles. I find it incredible that Wiggles recognizes his dad's voice. When Walter is around, Wiggles always moves in his direction.
Hugs and smiles,

Changing Daily

Hello friends & family,
I can't believe a month has gone by. Hopefully when we have a little one I will update this blog on a regular basis. As you can see I have grown, I am up to 191 lbs !!!! That is a total of 29 pds so far. I am in week 34 of the pregnancy. Six more weeks to go. We had an ultrasound on Friday and Wiggles is above average in size. Our doctor guesses around 5 lbs which is great. Hopefully Wiggles and I wont get too big over the next few weeks. Wiggles is also head down!!!
Wiggles is active constantly. Hiccups, kicks and extended stretched keep me entertained for hours. It is amazing to watch my belly move in such crazy directions. I am doing well. I can definitely feel the weight of Wiggles. I get pretty tired after an hour walk. Sleep is not as comfortable as it use to be.
The first picture above was taken in 2007. I wonder if I will ever have a waist again. I thought it was fun to have a comparison picture. Here is the link to my Picasso pictures. There is a great series called belly growth. I love looking back at the first photos where I thought my belly was so huge.

Hope all is well. Check back soon. I will try to do updates once a week.
