Two Teeth!!!!

Hello friends and family,
I can't believe two months have passed since I have updated this site. My lapse is mainly due to the fact that Quincy has been getting up every hour to two hours all night long for the last two months. A combination of being 4 months old and teething has lead to very restless nights. I am happy to report that two teeth have now surfaced and we are beginning to sleep again. We have had a few night were he has only gotten up once in a seven hour period. Teething has been rough on all of us. It is so hard to know your baby is in pain and to not be able to do very much to help. We have used homeopathic teething tablets, baby Tylenol on occasion, and frozen pacifiers. I even bought Q Kai an amber necklace. Apparently the essence of the amber helps make the mouth feel better.
So much has happened in the last two months. Quincy is now moving on his own. The first time I sat him on the bed in the boppy, got up to get a toy and turned back to have him lying in the middle of the bed was a shock. Now we have the bed lined with pillows so he doesn't flip off. He is also crawling backwards, which is very frustrating. He tries to go forward but ends up further from his favorite toy. He has started rocking back & forth in a crawling position and then lunging forward with arm out stretched. Quincy is getting very stable at sitting up. He loves to sit and play with his toys.
Quincy loves to laugh. A funny story with lots of gesturing can lead to uncontrollable laughter folled by a deep case of the hiccups. He is also getting tikkolish. He is so fun to make laugh.
He knows his name which is so exciting. He loves to grab just about everything and chew and slobber. He loves to hold his feet and chew on his toes. He is getting so big. He wears cloths sized 6 to 12 months now, even though he is just 5 1/2 months old. His hair is getting lighter and thicker. He has lost most of his baby curls except for a stylish mohawk.
Quincy is having so much fun at the pool. He loves to drink the pool water. On occasion he puts his face under. We love hanging out and splashing. Bathtime is also really fun. He can splash most of the water out of the baby tub in second flat.
My folks came out to visit for a couple of weeks which was really fun. We rented a house near the beach. It was perfect timing because that is when the Santa Cruz Mountains were on fire. Luckily only ash fell on our house. Our house is still in the process of being remodeled...we got caught and now we are hoping to get permits before it rains.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Hugs & Smiles,
kristen, Walter & Quincy
