WALKING!!!!

So much has happened during Quincy's 11 month of life. On Feb 8, 2010 Quincy Kai Heady took his first steps!!!! For the first couple of days he would only walk right before it was time for bed. But now he tries to walk all day long. He has realized the main reason to walk is so that you can carry things in your hands. He love to carry big awkward things, like his drum or his baby butt wipe package. We have outlawed walking with sticks or any stick like object. The other exciting news is that we have 5 chickens and a beautifully constructed chicken coup. Quincy loves the chickens. He has given up on human words and has become fluent in chicken sounds. I love feeding the chickens snails from our garden. Our neighbors lent us the baby bike pictured above. Quincy has decided that it is way more fun to stand on the seat then sit on it. I feel like this picture proves that Quincy is definitely the child of Walter & Kristen. In general standing is about the best thing to do in the world. Last night in the middle of the night, I awoke to Quincy standing over me in bed. I don't think he was fully awake...sleep standing. Quincy has two new top teeth which has made for many a restless night. Quincy got his first bloody lip this month. I think his injury was harder on me than him. I felt awful when he hit his lip on a garden stake that I shouldn't have let him play with. So while most of the world is watching the Olympics, Walter & I have been watching Quincy walk. We think he takes the gold
Hugs & smiles,

Happy New Year

I hope that everyone had a wonderful start to the New Year. Quincy is now 9 months old!!! His Ama Winkie knit him the beautiful sweater in the picture. His first and only word is DUDE which he says continuously. He has also learned to make a fish face. He is on the verge of walking. He spends his days standing and balancing and walking along furniture. Quincy is also an excellent traveler. We spent two weeks in Florida with the Kusic Clan. Quincy favorite food is sand. It was a little unnerving how quickly the handfuls ended up in his mouth and even more unnerving when it came out the other end. It was wonderful spending solstice in Florida. We went swimming everyday. Quincy loves the water. He also had fun in the ocean. The highlight of our trip was seeing alligators in the everglades and watching polenesian dancers at the Mai Kai. I think if he was walking he would have been on the stage dancing too. We are still working on eating food. Quincy just doesn't seem that interested. I can't believe how fun everday is with Quincy.
